The Unjournal's commitment to open access publishing and open science.

The Unjournal (ISSN 3071-2173) is fully committed to open access. All content we publish is freely and immediately available to anyone, anywhere, without barriers.

What we publish openly

All of the following are published openly on unjournal.pubpub.org with individual DOIs:

• Expert evaluations of research papers and projects

• Quantitative ratings across multiple dimensions (overall assessment, methods, evidence, relevance, and more)

• Author responses to evaluations

• Evaluation manager summaries providing editorial context

There are no subscription fees, no paywalls, no registration requirements, and no embargo periods. Content is available immediately upon publication.

Licensing

All Unjournal publications are released under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY 4.0) license. This means anyone is free to:

• Share — copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format

• Adapt — remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, including commercially

Copyright

Authors and evaluators retain full copyright over their contributions. By publishing with The Unjournal, contributors grant a non-exclusive license to publish under CC BY 4.0. Contributors may freely:

• Self-archive any version (preprint, postprint, or published version)

• Republish their work elsewhere

• Reuse their content without restriction

Identifiers and indexing

• ISSN: 3071-2173

• DOI prefix: 10.21428 (registered with Crossref)

• All publications receive individual DOIs and are indexed in scholarly databases including OpenAlex and Crossref

Archiving and preservation

Publications are hosted on PubPub, operated by the Knowledge Futures Group. We are exploring long-term digital preservation through services such as CLOCKSS and LOCKSS.

Fees

The Unjournal charges no fees to authors, researchers, or readers. There are no article processing charges (APCs), no submission fees, and no access fees. We pay our evaluators for their work — authors and readers never pay.
